A couple of recruiting notes

Former Kansas quarterback Jordan Webb is looking for a new home, and UNT has at least shown a little interest.

Webb visited Colorado and talked to the Daily Camera. He mentioned that UNT has contacted him.

“Webb, who was a high school standout in St. Louis, said he plans to visit Wisconsin in April and has also been talking with North Texas and Murray State, a Football Championship Subdivision program.”

Webb is a junior and has two years left to play.

Derek Thompson will be a junior this year.

UNT needs options for down the line, especially after not signing a quarterback in its last recruiting class.

I’m not sure if Webb fits UNT’s needs exactly — a young player might be a better fit — but it is something to watch.

And finally Sports NOLA updated its list of the top players in Louisiana and which schools are recruiting them.

UNT is in on a few — running back Brandon Porter, wide receivers Jetavious Wilson and Deszman Broussard and defenisve tackle Gustavo Garcia.

It’s an early list. I’m sure UNT will be after more players from the state. Justin Gaines brought several players in from Louisiana.
