UNT had two signees in action in the state basketball tournament finals today. Granted, only one was playing a sport he will play at UNT, but it was still a big day for future Mean Green players.
Clarke Overlander finished with 14 points and 10 rebounds for Argyle in the Eagles 44-33 win over Corpus Christi Miller.
Overlander had a great tournament. He could end up being a good player down the line for UNT. From everything I have heard about Overlander from UNT’s coaches, he is a good defender, can flat shoot it and is just a good player overall.
Jarrian Roberts, a forward from Clarksville, scored 20 points and grabbed 13 rebounds while leading his team to a 65-47 win over Mumford. Roberts signed with the UNT football team in February as a linebacker.
It’s a great sign for UNT that Roberts is the kind of athlete who can be an impact player for a state championship basketball team, even if it is in a smaller division.
