I wrote a story for today’s paper about offensive lineman Coleman Feeley, who has had a really interesting career at UNT. He started seven games his freshman season and then pretty much fell off the radar for a few years.
He’s a senior now and in a dogfight with LaChris Anyiam for the last starting job on UNT’s offensive line. We will see how it plays out. He will play either way.
UNT should have better depth on its line than it did last season. Feeley will help provide it, either as a starter or a backup.
The big news of the day on the Denton sports scene is that Guyer quarterback Jerrod Heard committed to Texas last night. It’s not really UNT related news, other than the fact that there are some Mean Green fans out there who think Denton residents owe their first-born to UNT, if he can play football.
And finally, a few more people have sent in their picks for this year’s “Get Your Rear on the Record” contest. Here’s what we’ve go so far — 36 guesses and a whole lot of optimism.
