Tomorrow could be a big day for one Dallas-area college program.
UNT? Maybe. SMU? Maybe.
And since there is a very large distain for SMU among the UNT faithful, what Houston Bellaire offensive tackle Dwayne Johnson decides to do will be interesing.
UNT, SMU, Colorado, Kansas, Purdue, Tulsa, UTEP and Washington State have all offered the three-star tackle, who is set to announce his decision tomorrow.
UNT has already loaded up in its next recruiting class with three offensive linemen. The Mean Green’s line heading into next year is also very young.
UNT might not even be interested at this point.
It won’t make or break UNT’s class no matter what Johnson decides to do.
The decision will be note worthy, though, especially since SMU will be on UNT’s schedule regularly in the next few years.
Plus SMU has been winning all the head-to-head battles thus far. Red Oak tight end Jeremiah Gaines, Pottsboro defensive end Justin Lawler and Garland linebacker Nick Horton all had offers from SMU and UNT and picked SMU.
UNT could have a chance to win its first head-to-head battle for a player today.
