UNT announced a couple of interesting tidbits today, but first from the LSU end of things.
The school announced today that there are no changes at this point in the plans for Saturday’s game at Tiger Stadium
It’s going to be at wet and wild night in Baton Rouge on Saturday.
And now for an unsolicited take. There has been a lot of speculation on the game being moved or delayed. It might be delayed, but don’t bank on it being moved. LSU makes a lot of money on home games and UNT is getting a big chunk of change for playing this game.
Rick Villarreal mentioned this week that UNT and LSU need to play this game.
My guess is that it is played.
And in other news:
UNT announced that Dan McCarney has put walk-on wide receivers Lynrick Pleasant and Darnell Smith on scholarship. Both of those guys are on the two-deep, while a few guys who were already on scholarship like Chaz Sampson are not.
You just wonder if some of the guys UNT recruited are sliding a little if the staff is willing to spend two scholarships on walk-ons at the spot.
Mike Petersen continues to reshape the UNT women’s basketball team’s roster. Taylor Hooker, a junior guard from Tulsa, has transferred to UNT. She averaged 11.8 points a game in her two seasons at the school. She’s from Mansfield.
Petersen has quietly built himself a pretty impressive looking team in the short time since he has been here.
It’s hard to imagine that won’t pay off in the next few seasons.
