Monday night notes and thoughts (Houston OC, Ohio wins, et cetera)

Took a little time off on the holiday, but I’m back with some Monday night notes and thoughts.

The news that everyone is talking about is Houston’s offensive coordinator Mike Nesbitt resigning after a terrible 30-13 loss to Texas State.

UNT’s game against Houston suddenly looks a lot more winnable. Let’s not get carried away, though.

I will be interested to see how Houston reacts and plays over the next few weeks.

And speaking of watching future opponents, did anyone think twice about Ohio’s win over Penn State?strong>

Ohio is on UNT’s schedule next season (This is one instance where National Champs.net is right unlike last year when a vocal minority swore up and down there was no way UNT could be going to Houston in 2012. By the way, UNT is going to Houston in 2012).

UNT schedule is going to be a lot easier next season, but that game isn’t one anyone should be chalking up as an automatic win.

Quarterback Tyler Tettleton threw for 324 yards in that game, and he’s only a junior.
