Here are a few tidbits of interest from today’s Dan McCarney press conference and the conversations I had with UNT players afterward. And yes, McCarney mentioned some of these items on his coach’s show last night:
– Wide receiver/special teams ace Derrick Teegarden is out for the year with a spiral fracture of his finger.
– Freddie Warner is going to have a second ACL surgery on his knee tomorrow.
– McCarney praised kicker Zach Olen for the way he bounced back from a tough game against Troy. He’s been money since.
– McCarney also praised Zach Orr again for earning Defensive Player of the Week honors from the Sun Belt. He talked about what a good guy Orr is in addition to being a good player. It’s something I completely agree with, for what it’s worth. He’s a great representative of the university.
– UNT coaches are pushing that idea that the last five games of the season are a playoff. Win them all, and UNT is in the postseason. That’s true, and it probably is a good way to look at it.
I will have a video edited and up here in a few minutes.
