Mitchell preseason POY in Sun Belt, UNT picked to win the West

We all knew this was going to happen anyway, but it became official this morning. Tony Mitchell was named the Preseason Player of the Year in the Sun Belt Conference.

UNT was also a unanimous pick to win the Sun Belt West Division in the Preseason Coaches’ Poll.

Mitchell was the only UNT player named to the Preseason All-Sun Belt team, which was not really a surprise.

UNT has some other guys who are capable of earning All-Sun Belt honors, but Chris Jones and Jordan Williams missed the second half of last year.

Jacob Holmen is another guy who could be an All-Sun Belt player, but he didn’t have the numbers over the course of all of last season to make the team.
