Quick Sun Belt coaches’ call notes

There were a few interesting tidbits on the Sun Belt coaches call today.

Dan McCarney said UNT is healthy going into tomorrow’s game against Louisiana-Lafayette. You always wonder when practice is closed if someone got hurt in the days leading up to kickoff.

McCarney mentioned again that he doesn’t want UNT to be a school that gets a chance to be on national TV and then has no one show up.

UNT has promoted the heck out of this one. McCarney said there is a sense of excitement on campus.

And in other news …

Middle Tennessee coach Rick Stockstill is pretty sure his star running back Benny Cunningham is going to be out for the year. Tough blow for the Blue Raiders. He’s that team’s best player.

UNT has already lost to Troy, and in UNT football-like timing, Corey Robinson’s status is up in the air due to a concussion. Robinson might be the best quarterback in the league. Deon Anthony will take over for Robinson if he can’t get back.
