There are a million bowl projections out there, but this is one that is often cited — CBS Sports.
Here is what the site has for Sun Belt teams as of now:
GoDaddy.com — Louisiana-Lafayette vs. Ohio
BBVA Compass — Arkansas State vs. Western Michigan
New Orleans — Louisiana-Monroe vs. Kent State
Beef O’Brady’s — Troy vs. Ball State
Little Caesars — Western Kentucky vs. Toledo
That’s right. No UNT, at least not yet.
UNT has a tough road to get to six wins with five games left (UNT needs three wins), especially with trips to Louisiana-Monroe and to Western Kentucky coming up.
For what it’s worth, the site does not project that there will be enough bowl-eligible teams to fill all the bowls. They are projecting UNT to finish under .500.
And in other news, the UNT soccer team fell at Western Kentucky today 2-0. UNT could have won the Sun Belt regular season title with a win, but dropped its first game in league play just days after a huge win over Middle Tennessee.
UNT can still win the league, but will have to hope WKU beats MTSU.
