FAU joins the Belt Bolters

Florida Atlantic is following Middle Tennessee, which followed North Texas and Florida International.

The roster of Belt Bolters has reached four. All of them are headed to Conference USA.

The South Florida Sun Sentinel has the story on FAU moving to C-USA.

I don’t think the FAU move hurts or helps UNT, although it would have been nice for UNT to maintain its hoops rivalry with Western Kentucky. You never know, maybe C-USA officials would have changed the standard 4-for-1 road/home scheduling practice in the Sun Belt that favored WKU ever so slightly.

WKU is the school one has to feel badly for now. The school has invested pretty heavily in athletics while making the move to the FBS level and has a really good basketball program. Now it’s being left behind by its key rival in MTSU.

I wouldn’t be surprised to see WKU end up in the MAC.
