Tough night for UNT

UNT laid out a pretty tough schedule to begin the season to sharpen up for Sun Belt Conference play.

A game against Virginia in the preseason NIT turned out to be another tough step in the process. UNT lost to the Cavaliers 80-64.

I’m back home in Denton, but a couple of quick thoughts:

Tony Mitchell had a good night with 16 points and nine rebounds, but UNT is struggling a bit offensively. The Mean Green finished 3-for-19 from 3-point range. Jordan Williams went 0-for-6.

Clarke Overlander did finally hit one from beyond the arc.

That game against UTA on the 28th could be pretty interesting, and pretty telling.
