Keith Coleman out

Keith Coleman is sitting out tonight due to a violation of team rules, a UNT spokesman confirmed just now.

UNT was already going to be shorthanded after Chris Jones went down with a broken foot. He was ruled out until at least the conference tournamnet this week after being injured in UNT’s loss to Western Kentucky.

And don’t forget UNT is without Brandan Walton, its one proven deep-threat shooter, who broke his foot in a season-opening loss to Creighton.

To a certain extent the loss of Coleman negates the size advantage UNT would have had tonight against Troy, which does not start a player taller than 6-6.

UNT still has Tony Mitchell and Roger Franklin. Mitchell is great, but UNT is better when he isn’t anchored to the paint all game. Roger Franklin is a good inside scorer, but is really undersized at 6-5.
