Roger Franklin talks about UALR, are the UNT women the favorite now

Here is a video I shot with Roger Franklin before the UNT men left for tonight’s game against Arkansas-Little Rock. It’s a tough place for UNT to play.

And on the women’s basketball front, it’s probably time to tab the Mean Green as the favorite in the Sun Belt West Division.

UNT is 4-2 in league play and all alone in first place after beating UALR 68-65 last night. The Trojans are a half a game back.

What makes UNT’s spot particularly advantageous is that UNT has already gone to Western Kentucky, Middle Tennessee and UALR. Those are arguably the three toughest trips in the league.

UALR has lost at the Stephens Center in a Sun Belt game just 10 times in the venue’s history.

Laura McCoy had it going from deep. She hit six 3s and finished with a career-high 23 points. McCoy has 103 3s in her career, good for fourth in school history.

Freshmen Alexis Hyder and Loryn Goodwin each added 17.
