I am going to keep one blog going on recruiting this afternoon so that this is a little easier to keep up with.
The first commit of the weekend is in. Saginaw product Wylie Reinhardt backed out of a pledge to Texas State to commit to UNT.
Here’s the interesting part — UNT recruited him as a tight end.
Reinhart played all over the field for Saginaw throughout his high school career. UNT began recruiting him as an offensive lineman during his junior year. He moved to tight end as a senior and was a first-team All-District 6-4A selection. UNT recruited Reinhart as a blocking tight end. Texas State recruited him as a tackle.
There were a few schools in Louisiana that also showed interest in Reinhardt, but he decided to stay in Texas to be closer to family. It came down to UNT or Texas State.
Reinhart picked UNT and plans to call the coaches at Texas State tomorrow to tell them that.
The other interesting tidbit Reinhart shared is that UNT also picked up a commitment from Lirberty tackle Omar Tebo.
