UNT will finish up its two-game road trip to Florida today with a doubleheader at Florida Atlantic. I’m here in Boca Raton and will be updating the blog all day long.

Nothing is going right for the UNT men. Alzee Williams is out today with a sprained right knee. I talked to UNT’s trainer, who said he wouldn’t know for sure how bad the injury is until the team returns to Denton. For now, UNT is calling it a sprained knee.

UNT will have eight guys available today, and that total includes one walk-on.

UNT has lost six of eight.

Tony Mitchell has to get going in a big way if UNT is going to make a run at the end of the season. He was shut out at Florida International and had just two rebounds.

He’s been fairly consistent when it comes to scoring in double figures most of the season, but he has to take over, which doesn’t seem to be in his personality.

The UNT women are pretty much on fire, having won five straight. UNT hasn’t won six in a row since the 2000-01 season. FAU knocked UNT out of the Sun Belt tournament last year.

In a fun side note, Braylah Blakely’s sister
