UNT will have its annual pro day on Wednesday. I have yet to hear if it will be open to the media. There was a lot more interest in UNT’s annual event last year due to Lance Dunbar, who ended up making the Cowboys roster as an undrafted free agent.
UNT’s best prospects are likely punter Will Atterberry, offensive lineman Aaron Forenberry and tight end Andrew Power.
In a side note, I stopped by basketball practice today to work on a few stories in advance of the Sun Belt Conference tournament that will begin on Friday. I was talking to Niko Stojiljkovic and asked why he ended up at UNT.
His answer — Tony Mitchell.
Like a lot of players, Stojiljkovic thought UNT would be really good with Mitchell in the lineup.
It just goes to show the impact one great player can have on a team, even though UNT has failed to live up to expectations this year after winning 18 games and making it to the Sun Belt tourney finals a year ago.
