Walking around the UNT campus the last few weeks, it’s been hard to miss all the improvements the school is making when it comes to its facilities. I have been meaning to blog about it, but haven’t gotten to it until now.
UNT tweeted out a photo of the new scoreboard in the Super Pit going in. I was told the big support beam that would support it is being installed at the moment.
Over at the Olympic sports complex, the outer walls of all the buildings have been replaced. They used to look like temporary metal structures even through they were permanent. The outer walls have been recovered with a different type of metal.
It looks a whole lot nicer.
I posted a picture a few days ago showing the court in the new basketball practice facility.
It’s one court and will give UNT’s teams somewhere else to work out.
When I was over at the complex today picking up some material for my notebook, I noticed the sign has gone up on the outside of the building, which will be named in honor of big UNT donor Ernie Kuehne, who is also on the board of regents now.
It’s a well-deserved honor.
Kuehne’s a big backer of the basketball program and has given a lot of money to UNT.
UNT named its football practice fields, the Darrell R. Dickey Practice Facility at the request of Jim McIngvale a few years ago.
Now UNT has the Ernie Kuehne Basketball Practice Facility.
