Abbe arrested

Defensive tackle Richard Abbe, who started four games last season, was arrested early Thursday morning on suspicion of DWI.

Abbe’s bail was set at $1,000.

A UNT official said that Abbe was still in the city jail on Thursday afternoon and that the school would issue an official statement later today or tomorrow.

Abbe finished with 13 tackles, including 3.5 for loss, and a sack last season.

Abbe, who will be a senior in the fall, was listed as a starter on UNT’s post-spring depth chart.
