Zach Orr was a pretty highly regarded recruit when he signed with UNT a few years ago.
The former DeSoto standout has seen that decision pay off, at least in terms of playing time. He has been a staple in the Mean Green’s lineup for years.
Which brings us to his younger brother Nick Orr.
The DeSoto cornerback is one of those players who could help make UNT’s class.
Here’s the problem: He seems to be blowing up.

Texas Tech joined the list of schools that have offered him today that also includes Missouri and Kansas.
Zach Orr will be a senior this year, which means that UNT won’t be able to play the card that he can play with his brother. Following him might not have the same appeal.
The family lives in the area, so playing in Texas would help, but now that Tech has joined the fray, UNT might not have the same edge there any longer.
Zach Orr also hasn’t experienced a winning season or a bowl game at UNT. You wonder how that might impact the Nick Orr, especially since he has had a close-up view.
I have no doubt Zach Orr has had a wonderful time at UNT. He’s told me as much.
He will be UNT’s best salesman when it comes to trying to get Nick Orr to Denton. Posting a breakout season this fall before signing day would certainly help.
The more teams offer, the more the plot thickens. That battle for his services will be one to watch for UNT.
