I’m about to head to the airport for an afternoon flight to Atlanta, which will be a nice change, getting to go in a day early.
I used up most of the material I wanted to get in the paper or in the blog, but I will leave you with some final thoughts.
Before we get to those thoughts, a quick note: The UNT soccer team’s game against Baylor has been rained out.
UNT is 2-1 and is looking for the stunner and just the second upset of a ranked team in program history.
While that is the goal, there are a couple of milestones that would more than suffice if UNT falls short:
– Get out of town somewhat healthy.
They call these “Body Bag Games” for a reason. UNT can’t afford to lose a bunch of players for an extended time.
– Put up some points.
UNT scored 14 points last year against LSU and 21 at Kansas State. While UNT lost those games, they were big confidence-builders for UNT’s offense that is showing signs of progress through the first three games of the season.
– Don’t get run over.
Georgia is the type of team that could hang a bunch of points on UNT in a hurry. UNT would do itself a lot of good if it can hold up and keep the score respectable like it was against Kansas State.
– Build some confidence
UNT will head into the C-USA season after a bye week and could do itself a lot of good if it can keep the mojo going heading into league play.
