Remember when Jerry Jones talked about making the environment at Valley Ranch uncomfortable after the Cowboys failed to meet expectations last year?
Well, Dan McCarney channeled his inner Jerry this week.
I wrote about what McCarney had to say in tomorrow’s paper. Let’s just say that UNT’s head coach was not real happy about the way the Mean Green had performed in certain aspects of the game over the last couple of weeks.
Mac also got me off the hook. Mason Y’Barbo left little doubt that he was tired about reading about how UNT couldn’t run the ball. McCarney said he told his linemen and running backs that he was not happy with the way they had performed in the two games leading up to the Middle Tennessee game. We didn’t have to write it to make that point a valid one.
Could the DR-C have made the bulletin board?
I’m guessing yes.
I also found it pretty interesting that UNT’s leadership council went to McCarney with some ideas for what the Mean Green can do to change things up on the road to improve its performance.
That shows that UNT has some guys who really care and are doing everything they can in the hopes of getting to a bowl game this season.
And while we are at it, the UNT women picked up a commitment from a big post player:
North Texas gets 2014 Oklahoma post player. Megan Womack 6-4 Stroud HS has verballed to North Texas. Played AAU for Oklahoma Lady Trotters.
