Tuesday morning recruiting notes

There has been a little movement on the recruiting front over the last couple of days that I have been meaning to mention on the blog.

First off, Dan McCarney mentioned a few days ago that UNT had more players in on unofficial visits for the Mean Green’s win over Middle Tennessee than at any other game during his time with the Mean Green.

That’s a good thing, a very good thing, considering UNT put together one of its more complete games in recent years in its win over the Blue Raiders.

UNT has since tacked on a win over Louisiana Tech.

The Mean Green is 4-3, really has it rolling right now and can take a big step toward landing a bowl berth this weekend at Southern Miss.

At some point, one would assume that would translate to the recruiting front, where UNT is already off to a solid start. It will be interesting to see if UNT hits the JUCO ranks hard this year with so many key players graduating on the defensive side of the ball.

And on the hoops front, Chauncey Collins, a point guard UNT offered and I’m pretty sure visited, committed to TCU.

Here’s a story from the Daily Oklahoman on his decision to commit to TCU
