The All-Conference USA football team comes out today.
Marcus Trice let the cat out of the bag. He posted on Twitter that he is on the first team. It’s a well-deserved honor for Trice, who had a terrific year.
I suspect that Zach Orr is also on there. UNT’s offensive line could have a player selected. The player who makes it — if ones does — will depend on who UNT nominated and pushed for to be on the team.
UNT didn’t have a player named to the preseason all-conference team.
The Mean Green went on to be a whole lot better than anyone expected, finishing 8-4 and grabbing a spot in the Heart of Dallas Bowl.
I have always said to victors get the spoils when it comes to the all-conference team. UNT didn’t win the C-USA West. Rice won 10 games and the division, but UNT wasn’t far behind.
The Mean Green should place several players on the all-conference team as a result.
