UNT trailed for a big chunk of the first half of its game against UTA tonight before bouncing back to win 70-55.
I was going to try to make it, but ended up chasing bowl officials and those involved in the Dan McCarney extension talks all day. I got who I wanted, but then had to turn around and get that stuff ready for both papers and ran out of time.
The big news of the night was that BreAnna Dawkins went down with a knee injury. Dawkins is a pretty key piece for UNT. She didn’t score tonight, but is still UNT’s fourth leading scorer at 6.5 points a game.
Briesha Wynn led UNT with 18, Acheil Tac had 13, Alexis Hyder 12 and Laura McCoy scored 11 off the bench.
UNT really needed a good win after being waxed by Oklahoma State and falling to Grand Canyon in its last two games.
UNT got it. The question now is how big was the price. We should find out about Dawkins in the next couple of days.
