One of the big topics of conversation the last couple of days has been a minor glitch when it comes to delivering tickets to the Heart of Dallas Bowl that were ordered through UNT.
We caught up with Rick Villarreal for a little story in today’s paper.
UNT acknowledged the glitch and is doing everything it can to fix it. The glitch boiled down to this: UNT fans could get tickets in one of two ways. Fans could pick them or pay to have them delivered via FedEx.
UNT was never going to mail those tickets.
Villarreal made a good point. There is a lot that goes on in a bowl game. This was the one minor glitch.
And in other news …
I am headed down to the Heart of Dallas Bowl press conference today. I stopped by practice yesterday to talk to a few players about how this turned out to be a special year for UNT, which is heading to a bowl game in the 100th year in program history.
The UNT men’s basketball team will be back in action today at Texas A&M. The Aggies are really good defensively and will present a challenge. In an interesting side note, one of UNT’s players is a former teammate of A&M guard Jamal Jones. Here’s more on the game.
Tony Benford pointed out when I stopped by that all of UNT’s players are doing well academically and will be eligible for the second semester. That’s definitively a huge positive for the team heading into the second half of the season.
