There were a couple of items of interest on the football recruiting front I came across in the last day or so. Some of them have already been mentioned, but just to catch everyone up who reads the blog:
– Rivals.com bumped UNT running back recruit Willie Ivery up to being a three-star rated player. I thought the Sulphur Springs standout was a steal from the start. UNT’s connection to the program really paid off. The guys at 247 already had Ivery rated as a three-star player.
– The saga of Christian Beard, an offensive lineman from Waco Midway, continues to become more interesting as we head toward signing day. Beard was committed to SMU and then parted ways with the school under odd circumstances that I won’t rehash right now. He visited Toledo and committed there, but now Arkansas State is in the hunt and could flip him. I only mention it because UNT was in the hunt a few months ago. The guy is just a really good player/prospect. He visited A-State recently.
I am no longer committed to the University of Toledo. Was a Blessing to have it as an opportunity to play at. I wish y'all the best.
