UNT in good spot with Goree, end of the Beard saga (maybe), UNT women win

It looks like we have reached the end of the Christian Beard recruiting saga.

Long story short: UNT was interested in the big Waco Midway lineman who, committed to SMU, found out he didn’t have a scholarship offer from SMU, decommitted from SMU, committed to Toledo, decommitted from Toledo and has now committed to UNT’s old rival Arkansas State.

That’s a good get for the old Red Wolves.

While we are talking recruiting, it sounds like UNT is in a good spot to hang on to Carthage wide receiver Tee Goree.

And in other news, the UNT women beat Florida International in Miami tonight 66-59. Briesha Wynn led UNT with 21, Alexis Hyder added 18 and Janis Peterson 12.

UNT is 8-10 and more importantly 2-3 in Conference USA play.

UNT will have a chance to get to .500 later this week at Florida Atlantic.

This is starting to look like it could be the year UNT cracks .500 for the first time in a long time.
