Tip off — Keith Coleman is starting today.

UNT is going to tip off its game against Tulane here at the Super Pit.

It’s about 30 minutes until game time and I’m here with 43 fans waiting for the festivities to begin.

It will be interesting to see how many people show for a 1 p.m. tip.

UNT played surprisingly well in its Conference USA opener against Southern Miss and was within one in the second half before falling 74-64.

Jordan Williams had 17 points and Maurice Aniefiok added 12 for UNT (9-6).

The matchup to watch in this one will be in the backcourt. Tulane has three really good guards who are all averaging 15 points or more.

Louis Dabney is averaging 18.2 points a game for the Green Wave.

UNT could have a bit of an advantage inside, if its forwards can turn it around. UNT didn’t play that well in the paint in the Southern Miss game.

I will be watching to see how Kelvin Gaines fares. He has not looked healthy since coming back from foot surgery.

Stay tuned. I will update the blog all game.
