Final — UNT falls 79-63. I will be back.

3:52 — Tulsa has pretty much stuck a fork in UNT. The Golden Hurricane is up 74-59 late in the second half. Briesha Wynn has fouled out. Alexis Hyder has 14 points.

5:58 — UNT is down 66-56 and just took a timeout. UNT caught a break when Tulsa missed two free throws back-to-back.

7:05 — This is quickly getting away from UNT, which is dwon 64-56. UNT got caught on a switch that left Laura McCoy guarding a forward in the post. McCoy had no choice but to mug the heck out of her. Tulsa is headed to the line.

10:26 — UNT is down 54-50 after Tulsa scored three straight. UNT just turned it over and called for a timeout.

11:40 — UNT has pulled to within 51-50 as we near the halfway point of the second half. Briesha Wynn has four fouls and is on the bench. Alexis Hyder and Achiel Tac have picked up the slack (see what I did there) and have 10 points each. Wynn has 13. Tulsa is headed to the line for a one-and-one.

13:58 — UNT is down 48-43 with Taylor Hooker at the line for one more free throw after he missed the first before the Tulsa called a timeout. Briesha Wynn still leads UNT with 13 points.

15:51 — UNT is down 44-39 at the first media timeout of the second half. Briesha Wynn has 13 points for UNT. She hit a 3 to get UNT to within two, but Tulsa answered right back with an Ashley Clark 3 to go back up five. Tulsa has a 22-18 edge on the boards.

Halftime — UNT is down 36-32 at halftime here at the Super Pit. Briesha Wynn has eight for UNT. Janis Peterson hit a huge 3 for UNT late in the half with the shot clock running down after Tulsa had gone on an 11-1 run to go up seven. Tulsa is a pretty efficient 3-for-6 from 3. UNT is 4-for-15.

1:41 — UNT is going through one of those droughts again. Tulsa is on an 11-1 run and is up 36-28. UNT just called a timeout.

3:35 — UNT is up 28-27 and will have the ball coming out of a timeout. Taylor Hooker is 1-for-5 from the field. The one shot she hit was a 3 for UNT’s last points. Briesha Wynn has eight points for UNT.

6:13 — UNT is up 22-21 and just took a timeout after Acheil Tac hit a jumper. Briesha Wynn has eight and Tac 6.

7:50 — UNT is up 20-19 past the midway point of the first half. Briesha Wynn has eight points for UNT. Tulsa is headed to the line out of this timeout. UNT has five turnovers so far.

11:50 — UNT was down by as many as five, buut Acheil Tac has scored four straight to pull UNT to within 14-13. Briesha Wynn also has four for UNT. The Mean Green has two steals, which has helped matters a bit.

15:10 — UNT is down 11-9 at the first media timeout of the first half. UNT was down five before Candice Adams hit a 3. Briesha Wynn has four points for UNT. Tulsa is 5-for-8 from the field and has been getting into the lane.

Update tipoff — The Super Pit is pretty empty, but there is a huge contingent of Tulsa fans who went nuts when one of Tulsa’s players was announced Jasmine Vasquez is from Denton.

UNT is about to tip off its women’s basketball game against Tulsa here at the Super Pit and once again we are along for the ride.

UNT has alternated wins and losses over its last four games and is sitting at 8-11 overall and 2-4 in Conference USA play. UNT lost at Florida Atlantic in its last outing. The Owls hit 14 3s in in an 82-69 win.

Briesha Wynn and Alexis Hyder are averaging 10.4 points a game for the Mean Green. Tulsa has won its last two games and is 9-7 on the year, including a 3-2 mark in C-USA play.

UNT has played well in stretches over its last few games and played horrible in others. UNT is never going to achieve the breakout its looking for if it doesn’t consistently play well. That is the goal tonight.

Tulsa has a pretty good guard in Ashley Clark, who is averaging 14.6 points a game.
