Friday afternoon notes (Trice to play in all-star game, softball at home, et cetera)

We are headed into what will be a busy weekend in UNT sports.

Marcus Trice, UNT’s All-Conference USA safety, will be in action tonight in a college all-star game. Trice was a key part of UNT’s defense that had a terrific year and paved the way for the Mean Green to earn a spot in the Heart of Dallas Bowl and then win it.

Be sure to tune in.

UNT’s new softball coach Tracey Kee will also make her home debut today at the Lovelace Invitational. UNT plays its first game at 3 p.m. against Nicholls State and then turns around and plays Southern. Here’s a link to our advance in today’s paper.

UNT will have live stats of the game, if anyone wants to follow along.

David Minton, who shoots a lot of sports for us, put together a slideshow of last night’s UNT-Old Dominion men’s basketball game. Here’s a link to my story on UNT falling into a tie for last place in C-USA and David’s photos.strong>
