Sunday night notes (softball wins 11th straight)

It’s Sunday night and that means its time for a look at what is going on around the world of the Mean and the Green.

We have covered where UNT is at in the world of hoops. The UNT men are on a roll, having won three straight, while the UNT women lost a tough one at Tulsa.

What we haven’t discussed is the roll the UNT softball team is on.

Softball always flies a little under the radar — especially when it’s still basketball season — but it is worth noting that UNT has won 11 in a row.

UNT is playing pretty much the first third of the season at home with three straight home tournaments and has taken advantage.

UNT’s latest win was a 3-1 victory over Texas State on Sunday. Karly Williams hit a key two-run home run for UNT, which has four more home games coming up this weekend in the Best Western/Courtyard classic.
