The UNT men’s basketball team is about to take on ODU and once again we are along for the ride on the MGB.
UNT has lost a Conference USA worst four consecutive games and is one loss short of matching the longest losing streak of the Tony Benford era. UNT also lost five in a row at one point last season.
A loss would also drop UNT into last place in the C-USA standings at 2-8. Rice and Marshall are also 2-8 in conference play. Neither play tonight.
On the bright side, a win tonight pushes UNT back to .500 on the season.
If UNT is going to get something going, it’s going to have to find a way to improve defensively. The Mean Green has given up at least 90 in two of its last three games and ranks 15th out of 16 teams in C-USA in scoring defense with an average of 75.8 points allowed a game.
Aaron Bacote is one of the top scorers in C-USA. The ODU guard is putting up 16.5 points a game.
