Wednesday afternoon notes (hoops injuries, et cetera)

I am getting to this a little late today, but here are a couple of key notes:

– The UNT women’s basketball team is dealing with a couple of critical injuries. Candice Adams injured her left knee in the Mean Green’s last game and is set to undergo an MRI. Joh’Vonna Darrington had surgery on her meniscus today.

Losing both would be a key blow for UNT and put even more pressure on Laura McCoy to carry a heavy load at the point, where Adams sees a lot of time.

– Most people have already seen this, but The Ticket put out a list of the Best/Worst DFW Coaching Hires.

Todd Dodge, the worst coach in the history or North Texas athletics, checks in at No. 3.

Personally, I think he was robbed.

He could have easily been No. 1 for the long-term damage he caused the program while going a stupefying 6-37.

– I checked in with the UNT men’s basketball team and will have a video of Tony Benford talking about the team’s struggles lately defensively. Benford and the Mean Green are working on improving in their zone. UNT is struggling with rebounding out of it and defending without fouling. We will have more later.
