Basketball recruiting tidbit (UNT sees Paris JC forward)

UNT picked up a commitment from a key target a few days ago in Tyler JC point guard Todd Eaglin.

That put UNT at the NCAA limit of 13 scholarship players for next season, at least as things stand.

That does not necessarily mean UNT is done shaping its roster, though.

Tony Benford and his staff are still out on the road and stopped by Paris JC, home of Nohoum Bocoum, a 6-foot-9 post out of New York.

Bocoum averaged 9.9 points and 6.2 rebounds a game last season as a sophomore.

Paris JC is coached by former UNT assistant coach Chuck Taylor.

UNT is also in the hunt for JUCO shooting guard Macari Brooks.

We wrote quite a bit last season about UNT’s struggles to compete in the post. Colin Voss was pretty solid. Keith Coleman and Kelvin Gaines had the moments. There is little doubt UNT could improve, though.

Bocoum could be part of the plan. Stay tuned.
