I’m heading over to Dan McCarney’s pre-spring practice press conference here in a minute, but first a couple of thoughts, notes.
We have gone over most of UNT’s key issues heading into spring drills. Here the story I wrote for today’s paper.
It will be really interesting to see how UNT handles being without so many of its key players and leaders from last season. Guys like Zach Orr, Brelan Chancellor and Derek Thompson made that team what it was.
Most of the key playmakers are gone.
The fit with the new staff will also be important.
And speaking of UNT’s top players from last year, we are getting closer and closer to the NFL draft. UNT hasn’t had a player selected since Cody Spencer in 2004.
The hope is that Orr breaks that drought.
I ran across this list of the top 250 players in this year’s draft and Orr is not listed.
Orr will go to camp with someone. It’s just a matter of whether he is selected.
