UNT to play in nationally televised game, C-USA spring preview

UNT is going to get another shot to play on national television this fall.

UNT announced today that its home game against Louisiana Tech has been moved to Thursday, Sept. 11, for a FoxSports1 broadcast.

The added exposure will be great for the Mean Green. UNT played on Thursday last year and really capitalized with a win over Rice that included its now famous eight-play goal-line stand.

There is no way to over estimate the benefits of playing on national television for a program like UNT. The Mean Green will also have a chance to show off Apogee on national television again.

We are also getting to the time of year when previews start to come out predicting how things will turn out in a number of conference races. USA Today came out with its spring football primer for Conference USA today.

There isn’t a whole lot of UNT material in the preview, which picks UNT to finish fourth in C-USA’s West Division behind Rice, UTSA and Louisiana Tech.

UNT lost a lot of talent after last year. The Mean Green’s coaches and players fully expect to be back in the hunt for a bowl game this year, but is going to be a bit of an underdog heading into the season with so many question marks across the field.
