Nouhoum Bocoum visited UNT this spring at the beginning of a tour that was set to take him to Houston and Eastern Michigan.
Bocoum said late this week that his options have dwindled.
The 6-foot-10 center who played at Paris JC last season is no longer considering a scholarship offer from Houston and indicated in a text message that he will sign with either UNT or Eastern Michigan.
The third team All-Region XIV selection averaged 9.9 points and 6.2 rebounds a game last season while playing for former UNT assistant Chuck Taylor.
Houston recently signed a pair of junior college players.

Bocoum said he will carefully consider his options before signing in the next couple of weeks, but liked the opportunities UNT presented after visiting the school.
“After speaking to [UNT coach Tony] Benford and the staff, they know how good I can be,” Bocoum said. “I can see myself playing there the next two years.
“When me and coach Benford talked, he said he wants me to be a force down low, rebound and defend. He wants to have an inside-out attack on offense.”
UNT is looking for a center to fill the void created when Kelvin Gaines elected to forgo his senior season with the Mean Green to pursue a professional basketball career. Keith Coleman later left the program.
Bocoum appears to be UNT’s top remaining target.
Stay tuned. UNT could find out in the next couple of weeks if the well-traveled player will continue his career with the Mean Green.
