It’s been a pretty packed news day already. Here are a couple of other items of note in addition to what I posted earlier.
The Heart of Dallas Bowl announced the date for its game today. This time around, it will be played on Dec. 26 on ESPN. It’s really good for the bowl to land on ESPN this year.
There is no guarantee that UNT ends up in a bowl again in a few months. The Mean Green lost a ton in terms of players, but if UNT does manage to make it back to the postseason, don’t be surprised if it makes a push to return to Dallas.
I was meaning to mention this earlier, but today is also the start of the NCAA West Regional meet. UNT has 12 athletes in the meet.
And on the recruiting front:

UNT offensive lineman target Beau Hott picked up an offer from Air Force. I still think he ends up at UNT. He also has offers from Oregon State, New Mexico in addition to UNT.
Former #SMU commit WR Jarvis Baxter will camp at SMU this Sunday. Spent this season at Trinity Valley in Athens, Texas.

We wrote about Baxter a while back in our UNT recruiting target series.
Baxter committed to SMU out of high school but needed to go to JC to pick up his two-year degree before being eligible to play on the FBS level. It appears as if SMU is trying to get back into the picture.
And finally …

UNT commit Rodney Bendy, a wide receiver from Tyler John Tyler picked up his second offer in two days, adding Northwestern State to his list of offers a day after picking up an offer from Louisiana-Monroe.
