UNT has picked up a late football commitment from Snow College OL Darren Denucci, according to JUCO recruiting specialist Brad Hoiseth.
Snow (JUCO) center Darren Denucci just informed me that he has made a late commitment to North Texas for the class of 2014.

Denucci is 6-foot-3 and 280 pounds.
Denucci sounds like an interesting story. He was originally signed, sealed and delivered to Nevada, a pretty solid Mountain West program that has enjoyed a lot of success over the years.

Denucci was back on the market after leaving Nevada and landed with UNT.
UNT has yet to announce the signing and I have not talked to Denucci, but if it all goes down, he would be the second late signing for the Mean Green. UNT added Pierce College safety Matthew Dash earlier this spring.
Adding Denucci would be an interesting twist for UNT, which has center Kaydon Kirby returning and a pretty deep offensive line. UNT does have three senior starters, including guards Cyril Lemon and Mason Y’Barbo.
Denucci could rotate in for a year and then move into the starting lineup.
UNT does have a connection with Snow. Mike Canales coached there earlier in his career.
UNT signed Justin Manu from Snow a couple of years ago only to find out just before the season that his eligibility clock had run out.
The immediate question will likely be if Denucci can play on the defensive line, where UNT seems a bit thin, not to mention undersized. One usually doesn’t see players switch spots this late in their careers, but it is a reasonable question to ask.
I should have more information in the next couple of days.
