Sam Miller talks about decision to commit to UNT

Sam Miller wanted to stay close to home and play on the college level in Texas.

Once the Canton defensive end got a good look at UNT and what it had to offer on Sunday, he quickly decided to continue his career on the college level with the Mean Green.

The Canton standout committed to play for the Mean Green following his visit to the school, passing on offers from UTSA, Nevada, Oregon State, Texas State, Louisiana-Monroe, Houston, UTEP, Memphis and Kansas State.

“When I got there with the staff and the school I felt comfortable just being there,” Miller said. “I felt like the coaching staff will make me into a better person and football player.”

Miller was recruited by UNT offensive line coach Mike Simmonds.

Stay tuned for more on Miller in the next day or so.
