UNT recruiting target series — Bryce Wilds

Bryce Wilds

The list of schools that have offered Brazosport offensive lineman Bryce Wilds includes a pretty sizable chunk of the schools in Texas.

UNT offered Wilds in April and is currently joined by Conference USA rivals Rice and UTSA, not to mention Houston and Stephen F. Austin. McNeese State is the lone out of state school to offer thus far.

“It’s exciting to have that many options in the state,” Wilds said. “I have been to Houston, Rice and UTSA.

“When those schools had their junior days, I went to those.”

Wilds said he would have liked to have attended UNT’s junior day, but was out of town. He also missed UNT’s satellite camps.

While Wilds has not been to UNT’s campus, he learned more about the school in the last few weeks.

“I have talked to the coaches and have started to look at the school,” Wilds said.

“I don’t know much about North Texas yet, just what my coaches have told me and what I have read on line.”

UNT offensive line coach Mike Simmonds is recruiting Wilds, who is 6-foot-7 and 305 pounds. He earned first-team all-district honors as a junior. Here are his Hudl highlights.

“I have talked to coach Simmonds several times,” Wilds said. “He seems like a good guy.”

Colleges are recruiting Wilds as a tackle. He will play guard during his senior year due to the offense Brazosport will run this season.

“I will try to commit around the beginning of football season,” Wilds said. “I will start narrowing it down later this summer.”
