UNT recruiting target series — Tyler Moore

UNT has several players on both its offensive and defensive fronts who are in the later stages in their careers and hosted a group of players who could end up replacing them the last several days.

Houston North Shore offensive linemen Tyler Moore is among the most highly rated of those players who toured the Mean Green’s facilities.

Moore, who is rated as a three-star prospect by 247 Sports, was in Denton on Saturday. Here are his Hudl highlights.

UNT offensive line coach Mike Simmonds and defensive line coach Kevin Patrick are recruiting Moore.

“It was really nice,” Moore said. “I liked the facilities.

“I also really liked the coaches and the staff. Coach Simmonds has a lot of experience and played in the NFL. That means a lot. The coaches are really personable. I really like them.”

Moore, who is 6-foot-4 and 335 pounds, projects as a center or guard on college level. He was an All-District 21-5A selection last season when he was also named to the All-Greater Houston team and earned honorable mention all-state honors.

Louisiana Tech, Minnesota, Illinois, Texas State and New Mexico have all offered Moore a scholarship.

Moore is familiar with the Denton area and has driven through on a number of occasions to visit family in Oklahoma. He got a chance to learn a little more about UNT during his visit to the school. The visit left him with a lot to consider during his recruiting process that could extend well into the season.

“It’s still fairly early,” Moore said. “I want to take some official visits during the season and see what schools have to offer.”

“I am not sure when I will make a decision. I will know when the time is right.”
