The outside linebacker was suspended indefinitely on July 2 by head coach Dan McCarney after he and tight end Chris Loving were charged with theft in connection with an incident involving a pair of televisions at a Denton Walmart.
He tweeted tonight that he is getting a second chance …
RT @Sed9Ellis: Seriously blessed beyond measure, thank the Lord for my 2nd chance.

If Ellis is back with the team already, it’s a pretty short suspension.
UNT has encountered some off-the-field issues during McCarney’s tenure just like any other program.
When Richard Abbe was suspended after having some legal problems last summer, he was reinstated before the beginning of fall practice. Ellis’ situation appears as if it could reach a similar conclusion.
UNT has a ton of holes to fill on defense and really needs Ellis to bolster its front seven. We could soon find out if UNT has come to an arrangement where he returns in time for the upcoming season.
