Tuesday morning notes — Marks makes the call today

There were a couple key notes on the recruiting front that came down in the last day to get to, including a big one. Beaumont Central offensive lineman Ken Marks is announcing where he is headed today. Marks is a good prospect, who has offers from a number of schools, including SMU and Louisiana-Lafayette.

Marks was one of the players we talked to for our on-going UNT recruiting target series.

I swapped messages with Marks last night. He is making the call at 6 p.m. today.

My gut feeling is he is headed to UNT. He would be a great get.

And on the basketball recruiting front …

Gage Ellis, who we wrote about a while back picked up an offer from Hofstra. Louisiana Tech is also starting to show interest.

Whitewright forward Mason Riggins also recently came on a visit to UNT. He’s a good mid-major prospect from the area. We mentioned this yesterday, but Rowlett shooting guard Michael Kolawole visited UNT and continued his tour at UTA. I saw Kolawole and his coach at Tony Benford’s office yesterday.
