UNT has offered a few prospects in new JUCO Top 100

Rivals came out with its list of the top 100 junior college football prospects in the Class of 2015 this week, which brings up an interesting point. UNT has backed off in terms of signing junior college players in the last few years, but always takes a few.

So, who are the top JUCO players UNT is targeting who made the top 100? Here’s the answer:

Motekiai Maile — A defensive tackle from Tyler JC, who we talked to for our on-going UNT recruiting target series, is ranked No. 24. Maile committed to Oklahoma State.

Claude George — A linebacker from Hutchinson (Kan.) JC, is ranked No. 33 and has already committed to Miami. UNT recruited George out of high school in Lafayette, La.

Tim Cook — A player classified as an athlete at Eastern Arizona JC has offers from nearly a dozen schools, including heavy hitters Wisconsin and Arizona. He is ranked No. 46.

Xavier Pegues — A defensive lineman out of Itawamba (Miss.) JC is ranked No. 57. He recently visited Cal and has a number of major conference schools pursuing him.

Darrion Landry — A wide receiver from Blinn College, checks in at No. 64 and has offers from a couple of major conference schools in Illinois and Kentucky in addition to UAB, another C-USA school.

Timmy Hamilton — A defensive end from Coffeyville (Kan.) Community College is ranked No. 70 and is another player who has offers from schools across the country.
