The UNT men received some good news on Friday when head coach Johnny Jones said that junior forward Keith Wooden will be back for a game today against Denver. Wooden was suspended a game for a violation of team rules and did not play against Belhaven earlier this week. UNT likely won't need Wooden to be at his best against a Denver team that is struggling, but a matchup with Arkansas-Little Rock and Rashad Jones-Jennings looms on Thursday. Jennings is averaging 12.1 points and 12.6 rebounds a game and always seems to play well against UNT. Last season he had 19 rebounds in a win over the Mean Green in the regular season and came back to score a game-high 17 points and pull down seven rebounds in a win over UNT in the conference tournament. UNT will depend on Wooden, who stands 6-9 and is in his first season with the Mean Green, to help change its fortunes against UALR. A solid game tonight against Denver would be a good way for Wooden to prepare for his showdown with Jennings. Be sure to check out www.dentonrc.com for a preview of today's game. |
