North Texas fan and recruiting guru Old Timer made a good point about linebacker A.J. Penson a few days ago that I meant to respond to. Old Timer is right, Penson is rated as a three-star recruit and No. 40 among middle linebacker prospects. Scout.com gave him that honor. Rivals.com has Penson rated as a two-star recruit. Recruiting Web sites vary slightly in how they view prospects. Both Rivals.com and Scout.com are highly regarded scouting services. What is of little doubt is that UNT is getting a top-level player in Penson. At this point, Penson appears to be UNT's top recruit. What recruit excites you the most? |

Any offensive line recruit excites me, as that was a clear weakness last season. While we need improvement across the board, the line is one of the critical areas for success in my opinion.

The recruit that I am most excited about is the WR Roberson.
This kid has all the physical attributes, 6'4" 210lbs and from all acounts I have read and/or heard can run.
This kid, I am not proclaiming anything yet by any means, could have NFL potential if he produces.
Playing outside in the Dodge sytem could give him some HUGE numbers being in the Sun Belt going up against what will be smaller corners in many cases.

I am most happy that we have a multitude of talent coming in. 1,2, and a couple of 3 stars. More important, we have young men that expect to win and that will "put the ball in the paint"!
