I just got off the phone with Tristan Thompson and the 6-5 guard from Brewster Academy confirmed that he decided today to commit to the North Texas.

The former Angleton standout had some interesting comments on why he decided on UNT and what he was told his role with the team would be. Thompson is one of the highest rated recruits to commit to UNT in several seasons.

The story will be up on the Denton Record-Chronicle Web site later tonight. Check back in on the blog later for some additional comments.
