I received a few questions over the last couple of days on the status of Alex Lott, a walk-on wide receiver who made a big impression in spring practice. The rumor was Lott had left the team. I put in a call to head coach Todd Dodge, who had his secretary call me back to let me know that Lott is expected back this fall. Dodge said earlier this spring that Lott has a chance to earn a spot among the Mean Green's top eight receivers who receive regular playing time. Post your thoughts on the blog. Any chance Dodge will try to lure his brother, Kris Lott from Plano, as a recruit?

With six lettermen, a transfer that started for Rice, and two sure-fire redshirts ahead of him, I believe that Alex Lott's chances of making the top eight are very slim.

The Rice transfer is just as unproven as Lott; didn't he tear knee ligaments? Lott will be fine come August...
